Killinarden Students Explore Physics, Clinical Measurement Physiology and Optometric Sciences at TU Dublin
We were delighted to welcome a group of students from Killinarden Community School for an interactive workshop showcasing the three disciplines within our School: Physics, Clinical Measurement Physiology and Optometric Sciences. Head of School Dr. Siobhan Daly greeted the students on arrival, expressing how pleased we were to host them and to share the exciting work taking place within our disciplines.
The Clinical Measurement Physiology session was led by clinical tutor Peter Coss and Diagnostic Imaging lecturer Dr. Dervil Cody, who introduced students to technologies used in modern clinical measurement physiology practice.
The Physics team — Head of Discipline Prof. Izabela Naydenova, along with Jamshed Aftab and Vishwath Rishaban Sakthinathan—guided students through hands‑on demonstrations that brought core physics principles to life.
The Optometry workshop was delivered by Head of Discipline Declan Hovenden and Arlene Fox, Manager of the National Optometry Centre, who provided insights into vision science and the essential role of eye‑care professionals.
