School PhD Student Engages Radiology Experts at Irish Conference
Well done to PhD student Clare Devery who represented our School at the Annual Scientific Meeting 2025 of the RCSI Faculty of Radiologists and Radiation Oncologists, held on September 25th and 26th. Clare, who is a part-time PhD student and Senior Medical Physicist with St James’s Hospital Dublin, attended the conference to conduct in-depth interviews with radiologists as part of her doctoral research on x-ray image optimisation.
The event brought together approximately 350 attendees, including Diagnostic Radiologists, Radiation Oncologists, Radiographers, and industry representatives. Clare’s engagement with professionals at the forefront of clinical practice underscores the real-world relevance and impact of her work, and reflects the School’s commitment to supporting innovative, practice-informed scholarship. Clare’s PhD research is supervised by Dr. Dervil Cody (TU Dublin) and Dr. Lorna Sweetman (Nottingham University Hospitals NHS Trust).
