TY Students Visit

Published: Monday 16 March 2026 - 09:20

On 11 February, we had the pleasure of welcoming a group of TY students who thoroughly enjoyed their visit with the Physics and Clinical Measurement Physiology teams, as well as with our undergraduate and postgraduate students.

Many thanks to our clinical tutor, Karen Cunningham, and physics lecturer, Dr. Dervil Cody, for taking the time to meet and chat with the students. We are also grateful to Amy Lynch, Lucy Paul, Leah Sinnott, Thea Ferley, and Diarmuid Tuomey for presenting their final‑year projects in such an engaging and inspiring way.

Special thanks go to the IEO researchers — Emma Branigan, Jamshed Aftab, Vishwath Rishaban Sakthinathan, and Antonio Marzoa — for their insightful conversations and demonstrations, and to Muhammad Irfan for preparing all the experiments for the optics workshop in advance.

Visits like this offer TY students a valuable opportunity to experience science education and to begin exploring future professional pathways.
