Bus Connects is a new bus network in Dublin which will improve the existing Transport for Ireland (TFI) network by providing enhanced bus services with high frequency spines linking local, orbital and radial routes. The TFI H Spine and C Spine both serve Dublin City Centre, including Abbey St, Tara St. and Aston Quay.
If you are arriving into Dublin City by train, both Pearse Street and Tara Street serve Dublin 2. From there you can pick up a Dublin Bike, or hop on a bus.
For up to date train timetables and routes, visit www.irishrail.ie.
Aungier Street campus is close to the Green Line Luas stop at St. Stephen’s Green, connecting students from Sandyford on the Southside and Cabra/Maynooth on the north side.
TU Dublin promotes cycling as a viable travel option for students and staff and 1 in 10 TU Dublin students cycle to college. It's a great way to keep fit and save money while in college. Use the Transport for Ireland Cycle Planner app to identify the shortest, safest route to campus.
There is lots of bike parking available if you have your own bike. If not, there are a number of Dublinbike stands close by on Kevin Street, York Street West and St. Stephens Green south (550 meters). You can hire a dublinbike by purchasing either a 1-day ticket, 3-day ticket or taking out an annual subscription. Full details on all dublinbike ticket options are available here.
Parking onsite is for staff only.
Students can park in the nearby APCOA Carpark on Drury Street. The hourly rate in this carpark is currently €4.20 but it is capped at €11 for 24 hours for TU Dublin students. To avail of this rate, please present your Student ID at the car park office and you will receive a discount card. To activate the discount, insert your original parking ticket and once fee appears on the screen, you will be instructed to insert the discount ticket. At this time, the machine will automatically adjust the fee.
TU Dublin encourages students, staff and guests to travel to TU Dublin by sustainable travel; but for those who cannot choose a sustainable travel mode and are dependent on travel by car, why not consider carpooling? Carpooling has many benefits including lowering traffic congestion and air pollution, reducing travel costs, and reducing car dependency.
