Career Development Learning

Career Development for Your Students

The Career Development Centre works alongside academic colleagues, particularly through in-class engagement, to support students in developing the skills, awareness and confidence to make informed career decisions.

If you have a student who would benefit from individual support, you can refer them for a one-to-one appointment with a Career Coach, please email careers.city@tudublin.ie.

What is Careers Education?

Careers education helps students develop the knowledge, skills and confidence to manage their career development and make informed decisions about their future.

  • Develop self-awareness of their skills, strengths and interests
  • Build decision-making skills and career plans
  • Research career options and opportunities
  • Present themselves effectively through applications and interviews
  • Network with employers and industry
  • Reflect and adapt in a changing job market

These skills are essential in a graduate labour market where students need to be adaptable, proactive and prepared for ongoing change.
