All TU Dublin whole-time students are covered by a Personal Accident Insurance Scheme. Cover is world-wide and operates 24 hours per day, 52 weeks of the year, irrespective of whether the accident occurs on campus or elsewhere.
Substantial benefits are payable under the scheme in respect of bodily injury arising from an accident. For example, the benefit payable in the event of permanent total loss of sight or loss of one or both limbs is up to €150,000. Medical expenses in respect of an accident not involving permanent injury are covered up to €7,500. Emergency dental treatment only covered for immediate relief of pain and suffering.
As with all insurance policies, there are some exclusions.
