Due to the volume of applications received, SAF applications will close on 28th November to allow the assessment of applications received up to this date. Students who have not submitted an application for SAF up to that point will have the opportunity to apply in January 2026, when we re-open applications for students who have not yet applied for SAF.
Students are required to log in to the SSB portal to apply for financial aid (SAF) https://ssb.tudublin.ie/StudentSelfService this is the same platform used to register for your program, add modules, check exam results etc.
Student Assistance Fund 2025-2026
The Student Assistance Fund (SAF) provides financial support to students who are experiencing short or long-term financial difficulties while attending higher education. The Higher Education Authority (HEA) manages it on behalf of the Department of Further and Higher Education, Research, Innovation and Science (DFHERIS).

The fund is open to full-time and part-time students aimed at tackling educational disadvantage by providing financial support to those who may require additional financial support to enable them to fully benefit from their higher education. Students will be required to produce financial information to support their application for assistance.
Please Note: The Student Assistance fund cannot be used for university fees purposes. You must be registered in order to apply for SAF.
As there are limited funds available, TU Dublin will target the available resources at those students most in need.
