Dr Etain Kidney is Head of the School of Marketing at TU Dublin, where she leads strategic and academic development across a broad portfolio of undergraduate and postgraduate programmes. Her role encompasses curriculum innovation, research strategy, quality assurance, internationalisation, and engagement with academic, industry, and civic partners.
She holds a PhD in Marketing from TU Dublin focused on inclusive entrepreneurship, alongside postgraduate qualifications in higher education and business. Her teaching and supervision span marketing, digital marketing, consumer behaviour, branding, and entrepreneurship across undergraduate, postgraduate, and doctoral levels.
Dr Kidney’s research sits at the intersection of digital marketing, social impact, and inclusive business practice. Her work explores identity and entrepreneurship, responsible marketing, para-social engagement, and not-for-profit contexts, and is widely published in international journals and edited collections.
Alongside her academic leadership, she is actively engaged with the non-profit and civic sectors. She serves as a Non-Executive Director of Dublin Simon Community and Trustee of Outhouse LGBTQ+ Centre, and works closely with national organisations on marketing, governance, and social impact initiatives. Her work is underpinned by a strong commitment to equity, inclusion, and responsible management education.
