Niamh McEvoy is a PhD researcher with a strong interest in entrepreneurship, gender, diversity, and qualitative research. Her doctoral research explores the discursive constitution of entrepreneurial opportunity formation among minority women. Situated within a poststructuralist framework and informed by Carol Bacchi's What's the Problem Represented to Be? (WPR) approach, her research examines how entrepreneurial opportunities are shaped through discourse, power relations, and processes of subject formation.
Niamh's Master's research focused on minority women's entrepreneurship and employed discourse analysis to critically examine how entrepreneurial experiences, identities, and challenges are represented and understood. Through her research, she has developed particular expertise in discourse analysis, poststructuralist methodologies, feminist perspectives, and critical entrepreneurship studies.
Alongside her research, Niamh contributes to teaching and learning across business and entrepreneurship disciplines. Her research interests include entrepreneurship, minority women entrepreneurship, entrepreneurial opportunity formation, discourse studies, poststructuralism, gender and diversity, and qualitative research methodologies.
