6th International Conference for Nanomedicine and Nanobiotechnology
During December 7-10, Dr. Furong tian/ Director of Nanolab Research Centre has leaded China/Ireland exchange team Faculty Head of Research & Innovation Professor Christine O'Connor, head of School of Food Science and Environmental health Dr. Julie Dunne visit Henan University for research collaboration purpose.
The aim of this visit was to present TU Dublin research expertise and visit facilities in Henan University. TU Dublin staff gave speeches at a Nanomedicine and Biotechnology conference.

Professor Christine O'Connor presented the works of 48 researchers in Faculty of Sciences and Health from TU Dublin.
The Nanolab and Physical to Lifesciences Research hub’ research contents were presented and recognised in the conference and meeting of the hospital. The high light important researchers are Prof. Christine O’Connor, Dr Furong Tian, Dr Hender Lopez, Dr Shiv Shankar and Dr. Suzanna Martin in nanoscience, Dr Azza Silotry Naik and Dr Abhrajyoti Tarafdar in Biotechnology , Prof Hugh Bryne, Prof. Fiona Lyng, Dr Bilal Javed in Diagnostics.
Dr. Furong Tian gave a speech on collaborative research in Nanomaterials and Nanotechnology.
Furong Tian received a certificate of speech in Nanomedicine and Biotechnology conference, Kaifeng, China.
TU Dublin staff have initial MOU between Henan University and TU Dublin on co supervising PhD students in August 2024. The signing of an MOU around collaborative research opportunities has been done among the TU Dublin staff, Prof Daxiang Cui, Xiangqian Guo, Jia Li from Henan University and Liu Jianyong, Zheng Xianjie, Song Zhiming, Lv Xinrui, Li Xiaodong and representatives of clinical departments and administrative in the First Affiliated Hospital.
Henan University in Kaifeng has 60,000 students and 69 authorised units for master and 2 authorised units for PhD degree on campus. Only the top of the class of students are selected to do PhD, and the Chinese government will sponsor them. Based on the funding, Henan University plans to support 20 exchange PhD students to go to TU Dublin.
The First Affiliated Hospital of Henan University has 2000 beds and 25 key laboratories and 9 scientific research institutions. Professor Cui Daxiang leads medical school with the lab integrated the oncology, gastroenterology, imaging in the First Affiliated Hospital.
TU Dublin and Henan University discussed the details of supervision strategies. The trip will Increase high calibre postgraduate students' numbers, enhance research innovation activities and publication records in TU Dublin. By Collaboration with Henan University, our researchers will gain access to novel animal models and diversity of disease and theragnostic facilities in hospitals globally.
