Undergraduate Research Projects Showcased at SURE2024
Congratulations to our recent graduates: Rita Byrne [from BSc (Hons) Nutraceuticals in Health & Nutrition, TU882] who presented their final year research projects at the Science Undergraduate Research Experience (SURE) 2024 Conference on 18 October 2024 in the Galway City campus. They also shared their insights on "How to Complete an Awesome Final Year Project". Over 300 people, including undergraduate students, recent graduates and staff across the country, attended this conference.
Rita Byrne carried out scientific evaluations on Synthesis of Silver Nanoparticles Encapsulated in Liposomes to Treat Brain and Colorectal Cancer Cells. The project was supervised by Dr Bilal Javed and Dr Furong Tian in Nanolab Research Centre. She received award for the top mark 83% in her thesis.
