This one year conversion programme provides an opportunity for students who have successfully completed an Ordinary (3 Year) degree (NFQ Level 7) or honours (4 Year) degree (NFQ Level 8) in a different discipline (for example: Business, Science or Engineering) to attain an honours degree (Level 8) in Hospitality Management equivalent in a further single year of studies.

The individual modules run in conjunction with existing modules on our degree courses. The offering of the Higher Diploma in Hospitality Management course further develops the learners’ key skills, their strategic ability and introduces learners to the hospitality management discipline. The three-month hospitality industry placement over the summer months forms an integral part of this programme.

A higher diploma is equivalent to an honours degree, which is the minimum requirement for entry to postgraduate study at master level or higher.

Minimum Ordinary (3 Year) degree (Level 7 NFQ) or honours (4 Year) degree (Level 8 NFQ) in a different discipline or equivalent. Students will be selected on the basis of their academic results. Final selection may involve an interview.
