I received an Unconditional/Firm offer letter for a course at TU Dublin. Now what?
Congratulations on your offer! To secure your place, please follow the payment instructions outlined in your unconditional/firm offer letter. You must accept this unconditional/firm offer and you’ll need to pay a minimum of 50% of your tuition fee (or €6,000, whichever is greater) to confirm your acceptance and secure your place here in TU Dublin. Payments should be made through the secure TU Dublin payment portal: TransferMate Payment Portal.
I received a conditional offer. Can I pay a deposit to secure my place?
No, you cannot pay a deposit or tuition fees if you’ve received a conditional offer. You must first meet all the conditions outlined in your conditional offer letter. Once all these conditions are met, you will be then offered an Unconditional/Firm Offer. You will then receive instructions on how to make a payment to secure your place. (Please refer to the previous question “I received an Unconditional/Firm offer letter for a course at TU Dublin. Now what?)

When do I have to register with immigration?
You must register with Irish immigration within 90 days of arriving in Ireland. If you're unable to secure an appointment within that timeframe due to limited availability, don't worry, you won’t be penalised as long as you can show you've been actively trying to book one. You can check for available appointments and book here: INIS Immigration Registration

Classes & Orientation
When do classes officially commence?
The academic year commences on the week starting 15/09/2025. You will receive your specific class timetable information during your orientation. The Academic Calendar outlines all key dates and events for each academic year. This includes start and end dates for each semester, examinations, study weeks (reading weeks), as well as holiday periods.
When and how will the class timetables be provided?
You will receive specific class timetable information during your orientation. Details for orientation will be published on our website in the coming weeks.
What are the typical weekly class hours for undergrad & postgrad students?
Class hours can vary depending on the course you’re studying. Some programmes have more contact hours than others, especially those with lab work or practical components. While each course is different, you’ll get full details in your timetable once you're enrolled. In the meantime, course webpages often give an indication of the weekly time commitment you can expect.
What is the exact schedule and format of the orientation program?
Details for orientation will be published on our website in the coming weeks. Orientation is essential for first-year students as it eases their transition into college life. It fosters connections with fellow students, lecturing staff and resources, creating a sense of belonging. Students gain familiarity with their campus, academic expectations and available support services. Participation in Orientation sets a strong foundation for academic success, personal growth and a seamless integration into the university community.
Is attendance at orientation mandatory before the start of classes?
Yes, attendance at orientation is mandatory, as it provides essential information about your course, campus facilities and student support services. However, if you're unable to attend due to unforeseen circumstances, please get in touch with your course coordinator as soon as possible.
Who should I inform if I will be late arriving to Ireland?
If you expect to arrive later than planned, you should contact your course coordinator as soon as possible. Their contact details are listed on your course’s page on the TU Dublin website. Keeping them informed will help ensure you don’t miss important updates or sessions at the start of the semester.
I can't access my student email. Who can help me?
You will receive your student email login details after completing registration. If you are having trouble accessing your account, TU Dublin provides a step-by-step help video and guidance here: Getting Online – TU Dublin.
Will classes be held online or in person?
This depends on your course. Some programmes are delivered fully in person, while others may include blended or online elements. Please refer to your course’s webpage for the most accurate and up-to-date information on the mode of delivery.
What student support services are available during orientation and throughout the year?
We offer a wide range of support services to help you succeed academically, grow personally, and make the most of your student experience starting from orientation and continuing throughout the year. These include academic support, health and wellbeing services, career guidance, counselling and more. You can explore the full list here: International Student Supports & Services.
Accommodation, Transport & Support
Can someone help me find accommodation near my campus?
Yes. TU Dublin’s Accommodation Office can support you in finding suitable housing near your campus. They work with trusted accommodation providers across the city and offer guidance tailored to international students. For full details and helpful resources, visit: Accommodation Support for International Students
Is there on-campus or university-recommended accommodation available?
TU Dublin does not currently offer on-campus accommodation. However, we provide a full support service to help students find suitable housing in Dublin. This includes guidance on trusted providers, tips for house hunting, and advice on living in the city. For all the information you need, please visit: Accommodation Support for International Students.
Does the university provide any airport pickup or shuttle services for arriving international students?
No, TU Dublin does not offer a shuttle service from the airport. However, Dublin Airport is just 20 minutes from the City Centre and is well connected by public transport, including buses, taxis and airport coaches. For detailed guidance on transport options, fares, and how to reach your accommodation, please visit: Airport Transport Information.
How do I get from the airport to my accommodation?
Getting from Dublin Airport to your accommodation is easy. Taxis are available directly outside the terminals and can take you straight to your destination. There are also several reliable bus and coach services connecting the airport to different parts of the city and beyond. For journey planning and transport options, visit the Dublin Airport website: Dublin Airport – Getting To & From
How much will transport cost from the airport?
Taxi fares from Dublin Airport to TU Dublin campuses typically range from €25 to €40, depending on your exact location and traffic. Taxis offer door-to-door service and are available 24/7.
Alternatively, Aircoach and other airport buses offer a more budget-friendly option, with fares starting from €8 to the city centre. However, they do not provide direct service to your accommodation, so you may need to take additional public transport or walk from the drop-off point.
How do I apply for a Leap Card?
To travel around Dublin at discounted student rates, you need a Student Leap Card. To apply for a Student Leap Card, you will first need a headed letter from TU Dublin about your fulltime course or your student ID card which you will receive after completing registration at TU Dublin. The Leap Card offers reduced fares on buses, Luas, DART, and other public transport. To apply, visit: leapcard.ie

Services include one-on-one coaching, CV and cover letter reviews, interview preparation, and access to job and internship opportunities. The centre also hosts regular careers fairs and employer events to help you build professional connections. Learn more here: Career Development Centre.

What do I need to be able to work in Ireland?
To work in Ireland, you’ll need a Personal Public Service (PPS) Number, which is required for tax and employment purposes. You can apply for a PPS number through the Department of Social Protection. Full details and the application process are available here: Apply for a PPS Number.
