ICT Project Office

The ICT Project Office has responsibility for strengthening relationships with key stakeholders, understanding their requirements, advising on technology-related decisions and providing IT resources to actively support the fulfilment of those requirements.

The ICT Project Office Senior Manager leads a team of colleagues in the following areas:

  • ICT Project Office

IT Project Managers will provide effective and accountable leadership for IT projects and technology initiatives that will have a significant impact across the University.

Where decisions to achieve new business outcomes necessitate the implementation of projects with a technical dimension, the IT Project Office will provide oversight and responsibility for the timely delivery of a comprehensive portfolio of ICT projects aligned with strategic objectives. 

  • IT Engagement

Technology Services Partners will build effective relationships with Faculty/Function stakeholders to understand their needs, and drive fulfilment of these needs in alignment with the University Digital and IT Strategy.

The Vendor Relationship Manager will maintain professional and effective relationships with key vendors and validate that the University is achieving value for money for its externally hosted solutions.  They will ensure relevant Service Level Agreements (SLAs) are in place and appropriate governance bodies and user groups take ownership for the effective operations of key solutions.

Technology Services can help with -

- advice on the technical elements that should be included for procurement and tenders.
- advice on the purchase of servers and storage.
- advice on software available for use and on evaluating possible new software.
- advice on data security and the compliance process for external hosting of TU Dublin data. 
- configuration of approved new software/services for Single-sign-on (SSO) for ease of logins.
- integration of new software/services into existing TU Dublin Systems.
- firewall changes to enable/disable access to systems.

Please contact us as early as possible (pre-procurement) if you are considering any of the above.  Technology Services' resources are allocated to commitments across the University and work packages must be scheduled into the TS workplan well in advance.  Resources can only be allocated to projects and work packages that support the TU Dublin Strategic Plan.
