TrailblazHER™ Scholarships & Bursaries

At TrailblazHER™, we are passionate about advancing gender equality by empowering students with the experiences and opportunities to develop the skills and mindset they need to blaze their own trails and create a brighter future. We understand that equity of access to opportunities and financial support to undertake these opportunities is one of the largest challenges women can encounter in their careers. That's why TrailblazHER™ is launching a dedicated series of scholarships, bursaries and awards to support students, graduates and employers so that no woman is left behind.

Intel TrailblazHER Scholarships

TrailblazHER™, together with Founding Partner Intel, is committed to supporting women to succeed in higher education and progress towards their future careers. The Intel TrailblazHER Scholarships provide financial assistance to eligible women students undertaking selected undergraduate and postgraduate programmes at TU Dublin. Two scholarships will be awarded through the 2026 call: one undergraduate and one postgraduate. Recipients will receive a financial award up to a value of €9,000, to support their studies and associated costs, together with opportunities to engage with Intel through networking, mentoring and career development activities.

Eligibility

Before applying, please ensure you meet all of the following criteria. Applications which do not meet these criteria will not be considered.

Applicants must be:

1) A registered undergraduate or postgraduate student at TU Dublin.

2) Enrolled in their first year of one of the following programmes:

Artificial Intelligence: 

  • TU850: Data Science and Artificial Intelligence 
  • TU862: Computing with Machine Learning & Artificial Intelligence
  • TU471: Human Centered Artificial Intelligence
  • TU880: Physics with Data Science
  • TU877: Physics Technology
  • TU842: Information Systems with Digital Transformation

Computer Science

  • TU856: Computer Science
  • TU857: Computer Science
  • TU858: Computer Science (International)
  • TU059: Computer Science (Data Science)
  • TU059: Computer Science (Advanced Software Development)

Electrical & Electronic Engineering

Please note you must be on track to successfully pass your Semester 1 examinations and/or complete your programme. As examinations will not take place until January 2027, applicants do not need to have received their examination results at the time of application. Eligibility and progression will be confirmed following the examination period.

Application Information

  • A personal statement (max 500 words) explaining why you should receive an Intel TrailblazHER Scholarship forms part of the application.
  • Late applications will not be accepted.
  • Submission of an application does not guarantee the award of a scholarship.
  • All applications will be reviewed, and shortlisted candidates will be contacted directly.
  • Decisions of the selection panel are final and not open to appeal. 
  • Award of the scholarship is made subject to the successful passing of all examinations and progression each year.

ESB TrailblazHER Scholarship

TrailblazHER™, together with Patron Partner ESB, are committed to providing practical supports to help women build their futures at TU Dublin and beyond. We believe financial accessibility should be a right, not a barrier. The ESB TrailblazHER Scholarship supports women students studying engineering at TU Dublin through financial assistance of €3,000 per year for three years. The scholarship is paid directly to the student and may be used at their discretion to support their studies and overall university experience. Further career development opportunities will be available through the ESB Summer Graduate Programme.

Celebrating Our 2026 ESB TrailblazHER Scholar

We are proud to celebrate Ericah Ncube, a second-year Mechatronics Engineering student, as the recipient of the ESB TrailblazHER Scholarship. Presented at ESB's headquarters in Dublin in September 2026, the award recognises Ericah's determination, ambition and potential to make a meaningful contribution to the future of engineering. Supported by ESB, TrailblazHER™'s Patron Partner, the scholarship provides €3,000 annually for three years, alongside valuable mentoring, networking and career development opportunities. Ericah's achievement reflects the ambition behind TrailblazHER's growing scholarship portfolio: to remove barriers, invest in potential and empower more women to pursue and thrive in STEM education and careers.

TrailblazHER™ Horizon Awards

Through our Develop Pillar, in collaboration with Technological University Dublin's School of Mechanical Engineering we proudly sponsored biomedical engineering student, Stephanie Edwin, to attend the prestigious 10th FH OÖ Campus Wels | International summer academy in engineering for women (ISAE4W).

The prestigious summer school for highly-motivated and talented women includes an intensive, two and a half week programme combining sophisticated theory with hands-on practical experience in engineering and natural sciences. In addition to knowledge transfer in these fields, social, cross-cultural and gender aspects are covered and discussed. The highly competitive school will welcome women from more than 20 countries around the world.

The sponsorship marks the launch of the TrailblazHER™ Horizon Scheme, which will help to support women at third-level to attend conferences and workshops to enhance their skills and leadership potential and broaden their horizons. Stay tuned for further updates and announcements.
