Future Makers
TU Dublin is pleased to support Future Makers, a three-day innovation programme delivered as part of Ireland's SDG Week 2026. Taking place on TU Dublin's Aungier Street Campus, between 22-24 September 2026, the initiative brings together members of migrant communities, local development practitioners, TU Dublin staff, entrepreneurs and innovators to explore how diverse experiences can drive sustainable solutions for people, partnerships and planet.
The programme is organised by South Dublin City Partnership (SDCP) and focuses on unlocking migrant talent through collaboration, entrepreneurship, sustainability and climate action. Across three day-long workshops, participants will work together to develop innovative ideas, explore real-world challenges and build connections that support inclusive and sustainable development.

Programme Highlights
Day 1: Reconnect the Disconnected
On 22 September, TU Dublin's Sustainability Education Team will facilitate a learning session focused on Education for Sustainable Development (ESD). The session will introduce participants to the United Nations (UN) Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs) and explore how sustainability thinking can be applied to community challenges, innovation and entrepreneurship.
The session will be delivered in collaboration with Beta Bajgart and Michelle Licciardi from South Dublin City Partnership (SDCP), supporting participants as they examine the connections between local action, global challenges and sustainable futures.
Participants will also explore systems thinking and the connections between local and global sustainability challenges. The day will include group discussions, interactive activities and a screening of a short documentary focused on climate action and individual responsibility.
Day 2: Good Idea to Real Opportunity
On 23 September, participants will examine how ideas can be transformed into viable solutions by identifying real-world problems, understanding customer needs and exploring sustainable business models.
Day 3: Pitch. Connect. Grow.
On 24 September, the programme concludes with collaborative workshops focused on sustainable mobility and transport challenges, expert insights, innovation support opportunities and participant pitches.
Throughout the week, TU Dublin staff will also support a Future Makers Hackathon, providing expertise and guidance to participants as they develop and refine innovative ideas. Further details on the hackathon programme will be announced shortly.
