Meet TU Dublin's New Green Campus Co-Chairs for 2026
Technological University Dublin is pleased to announce the appointment of two new Green-Campus Committee Co-Chairs who will help guide and strengthen sustainability initiatives across the University's campuses during the coming year.
Ninoshka Amanda Fernandes has been appointed as Green-Campus Committee Student Co-Chair, while Sarah Louise Rawe has been appointed as Green-Campus Committee Staff Co-Chair.
The Green-Campus Committee plays a central role in advancing TU Dublin's sustainability ambitions by bringing together students and staff to support environmental initiatives, climate action, biodiversity enhancement, sustainable travel, waste reduction, and engagement with the United Nations (UN) Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs).
As Student Co-Chair, Ninoshka Amanda Fernandes will represent the student voice within the Green-Campus Network, helping to foster collaboration, encourage participation in sustainability initiatives, and promote climate action across the University community.
Speaking about the opportunity, Ninoshka said:
I am honoured to have been chosen for such an incredible role within the Green-Campus Committee and its wider Network. I look forward to working with everyone at TU Dublin towards the shared goals of sustainability, climate action and zero carbon, especially in line with the UN SDGs. Together, change is possible, at every scale!"

Sarah Louise Rawe brings extensive experience and expertise in sustainability education and green chemistry to her new role as Staff Co-Chair. She will work alongside colleagues and students across the University to support the continued growth of TU Dublin’s Green Campus Network and help embed sustainability into campus life.
Speaking about the opportunity, Sarah said:
Green chemistry and sustainability are very important to my work as a lecturer, and I intend to bring that perspective to my new role as Co-Chair. I am looking forward to helping lead and champion the great work already happening across our Green-Campus Network, as well as working with many colleagues and students from across the University to make an impact and ensure sustainability is visible and engaging.

The appointments come as TU Dublin continues to grow its sustainability programmes and work towards ambitious targets under its Climate Action Roadmap, while fostering a culture of environmental responsibility, collaboration and innovation across the University community.
New Leadership for Green-Campus Network
The Green Campus Network at TU Dublin is a collaborative initiative involving students and staff across all five campus locations, Aungier Street, Blanchardstown, Bolton Street, Grangegorman, and Tallaght. The network focuses on advancing environmental action projects, supporting environmental education, and fostering a culture of sustainability within the University community.
The newly appointed co-chairs will play a pivotal role in leading the network’s activities, including coordinating events, engaging our people in pro-environmental behaviour, and capturing data for the An Taisce Green-Campus application for the Green Flag. Ninoshka and Sarah will also join the University Sustainability Council to help connect the ambitions and actions of the Green Campus programme in a visible and transparent manner.
Their leadership is expected to drive the University’s efforts towards renewing its Green Flag award by the end of 2026, focusing on the Green-Campus major themes of Transport and Travel, and Biodiversity, while maintaining previous achievements in Litter and Waste, and Energy as minor themes.
Acknowledging Outgoing Leadership
TU Dublin extends its gratitude to the outgoing Green-Campus staff Co-Chair, Asfand Bakht Yar, and student Co-Chair, Ariele Calajate, who held the position during the 2025/2026 academic year.
Joining the Green-Campus Network
Students and staff interested in contributing to TU Dublin’s sustainability initiatives are encouraged to join the Green-Campus Network. Members can participate in activities, including litter picks on campus, circular economy projects, sustainability education workshops, and national events like Green Week and Climate Action Week. Members are also encouraged to apply for the Green Campus Open Call 2026, which provides students, academics, operations and research staff with an opportunity to develop projects that support Climate Action Roadmap implementation and advance Green-Campus themes.
