Published: Thursday 27 August 2026 - 11:07

Welcome to TU Dublin! Today marks the beginning of an exciting new chapter, a chance to meet new people, discover new ideas and find your place in a university community that is helping shape a more sustainable future.

TU Dublin Orientation will take place between 07 September – 11 September 2026, and we are delighted to welcome new and returning students to campus for the start of the 2026-2027 Academic Year. During Orientation all incoming students at TU Dublin will participate in a programme of sustainability and climate action activities, including an Introduction to Sustainability workshop session.

During Orientation and the extended Student Life Festival and Student Volunteering Fair, meet fellow students, staff, and leaders who are shaping a brighter, greener future. You will learn about new and exciting sustainability initiatives that you can get involved in, such a sustainable travel, waste reduction, climate action, volunteering, and societal engagement with our community partners.

Most importantly, we value what #TUDublinSustainability means to you. Come visit us at our TU Dublin Sustainability stand during orientation and have a chat with us. Whether you have a big idea or want to make a new small everyday choice, you have an opportunity to make a difference from day one.

You’re joining a university that is making a real difference. TU Dublin has been ranked 1st in Europe and 17th in the world for sustainability in higher education, recognising the work happening across our campuses to create a more sustainable university. We’re also ranked 1st in Ireland for Climate Action and Affordable & Clean Energy, showing our commitment to tackling some of the biggest challenges facing our world. From promoting walking, cycling and public transport to becoming Ireland’s first multi-campus university to achieve a university-wide Green Flag, TU Dublin is taking action.

Welcoming students to TU Dublin, Vice President for Sustainability, Jennifer Boyer said: "We are delighted to welcome new students to TU Dublin, a university recognised for its leadership in sustainability and proud to be a finalist for Sustainability Institution of the Year - UK and Ireland. Orientation is a vital time to build connections, discover support services, and establish habits that can shape your entire student experience. Through engagement in your academic programme, clubs and societies, and our sustainability initiatives, you can help continue TU Dublin's strong record of sustainability leadership while enhancing your own wellbeing and student experience. I encourage all new students to get involved, make the most of the opportunities available during Orientation"
