Dr. Paul Doyle is an accomplished academic and industry leader, with over three decades of experience bridging industry practice and higher education innovation. He is a member of the University Executive Team (UET). In industry, Dr. Doyle held senior leadership roles at prominent global Engineering and Computer Science firms including Sun Microsystems, CR2, and Critical Path. Dr. Doyle brought his extensive industry experience to bear in shaping dynamic, industry-linked academic programmes and research initiatives. Having served as Head of the School of Computer Science at Technological University Dublin, he has overseen significant academic growth, curriculum innovation, and strategic partnerships with international universities and industry leaders such as Workday, Salesforce, and SAP. He spearheaded the development of interdisciplinary programmes focused on artificial intelligence, data science, and applied computing, enhancing both the relevance and impact of STEM education.
Dr. Doyle holds a multi-disciplinary PhD in Computer Science, specializing in globally distributed astronomical data processing. He has led numerous high-value EU-funded research initiatives, securing multiple millions of euros in funding. Notable projects include GETM4, Access2CS, and Inclusion4EU, all aimed at promoting inclusive education, global mobility, and ethically grounded technology-enhanced learning.
