Andrew Watters is a lecturer in digital and technical disciplines at TU Dublin, where he teaches across both undergraduate and postgraduate programmes. He holds a BSc (Hons) in IT Management & Computer Science and brings a practical, interdisciplinary perspective to digital marketing education. 

Andrew’s teaching portfolio includes a diverse range of modules such as:

Academic Interests 

Andrew’s core research interests lie in the application of emerging technologies in education, particularly: 

  • Artificial Intelligence (AI)
  • Augmented and Virtual Reality (AR/VR)
  • Digital Marketing Strategy
  • Search Engine Optimisation (SEO) and Search Engine Marketing (SEM)
  • User Experience (UX) and Web Design 

He is particularly interested in how AI, AR, and VR are reshaping the way learners interact with digital environments and content. 

Curriculum Innovation & Internationalisation 

Andrew is actively involved in internationalising the curriculum, ensuring that students gain exposure to global standards and inclusive design practices. His initiatives include: 

  • Teaching students how to design accessible websites for diverse users
  • Exploring UI/UX considerations for Middle Eastern languages and right-to-left design principles
  • Incorporating global marketing campaigns as real-world learning tools
  • Embedding globally recognised certifications into coursework via platforms such as LinkedIn Learning, Coursera, HubSpot Academy, and Google Data Analytics 

Programme Development & Student Support 

  • Contributed to the programme redesign of TU Dublin’s Digital Marketing programmes over the past two years
  • Has served as a dedicated tutor for both first-year and final-year students in Digital Marketing for over six years, providing academic guidance and mentorship 

Andrew combines technical expertise with a strong focus on inclusive digital education, helping students develop the skills, awareness, and certifications they need to thrive in today’s digital-first landscape.
