TU Dublin Study Abroad Programme Structure

TU Dublin undergraduate degrees are based on 3 or 4 year programmes of study. Students take a planned set of core and optional modules on a year by year basis. Unlike other countries, an Irish student has a defined path of study set out from the start. Each programme is managed as a coherent offering by a discipline-based School within the Faculty. Full-time students are required to study 60 European credits (ECTS) per year (30 per semester).

As a Study Abroad student, you can choose from across programmes and levels of study to achieve your study plan. As programmes are managed separately you will need to work with our local coordinator and the different schools to finalise your programme of study. Modules are usually 5 or 10 ECTS credits and are delivered over a single semester or over two semesters. Please note that if a module is over one semester, this module is not repeated in the same academic year.

There are over 300 modules on offer to you as a visiting student. Detailed information on the modules available is found on the links below. You should develop a ‘short list’ based on the areas you wish to study and the level appropriate to you.
