Dr. Anthony Buckley is a distinguished academic and strategic leader in entrepreneurship education, sales, innovation management, and enterprise policy evaluation. With a multifaceted academic background including a PhD from Lancaster University, MBS, MA, and BSc (Management), he also holds a Certificate in Third-Level Learning & Teaching. 

Currently serving as Head of Discipline for Entrepreneurship, Innovation & Sales at TU Dublin’s School of Marketing & Entrepreneurship, Dr. Buckley oversees strategic programme development, interdisciplinary teaching, and research innovation across this pivotal domain. 

Academic Leadership & Programme Direction 

Dr. Buckley has made significant contributions as Programme Director and Co-Director to multiple programmes, including: 

  • MSc in Business & Entrepreneurship (2009–11, 2014–23)
  • MSc in Sales Management (2015–present)
  • BA in International Business & Languages (2015–22)
  • BBS – Irish Aviation Authority (2008)
  • Enterprise Sustainability – Executive MBA (2015–19) 

Research Focus 

Dr. Buckley’s research interests lie at the intersection of entrepreneurship, digital innovation, and public policy evaluation, with particular focus on: 

  • Public venture capital and SME growth
  • Digital entrepreneurship and disruption
  • Mixed methods in policy evaluation
  • Practice-based entrepreneurship education
  • Institutional change and entrepreneurship policy

Teaching Innovation & Pedagogy 

Dr. Buckley is an advocate for action-based learning, experiential entrepreneurship, and practice-based methodologies. His award-winning contributions to entrepreneurship education include: 

  • Co-creation of the MSc in Business & Entrepreneurship at TU Dublin
  • Implementation of Action Design Learning frameworks
  • Teaching Fellow Award (2013–14), College of Business
  • Co-author of multiple case studies, including the Bald Barista (The Case Centre)
