Dr Christina Quinlan

Dr. Christina Quinlan is a leading scholar in research methods, communications, and social justice studies, with a broad interdisciplinary background in management, development, statistics, and communications. She holds a PhD in Communications, a MSc in Development, a PGDip in Statistics, a BSc in Management, and a Postgraduate Certificate in Learning and Teaching in Higher Education.
Dr. Quinlan currently teaches Research Methods across a wide range of postgraduate programmes, including:
- MBA
- MSc in Strategic Management, Marketing & Entrepreneurship, Digital Marketing, HRM, International Accounting, Creative Commercial Communications
- Upcoming: MA in Global Sustainability Leadership
Christina also leads and co-ordinates a specialised academic writing and publication module for early-stage PhD candidates, delivered to students from TU Dublin and international partners via the EUt+ and GETM4 networks.
Teaching Innovations & Awards
- Lead author of Business Research Methods (3rd Ed, 2024, Cengage) – a globally adopted textbook series co-authored with four U.S.-based professors, built on innovative pedagogical models developed from her own teaching practice.
- Recognised for excellence in assessment with the Student Assessment Award (De Montfort University, 2018).
- Contributor to Henry Stewart Talks with her 10- part series on Business Research Methods.
- Active member of TU Dublin’s Communities of Practice in HyFlex Learning and Entrepreneurship and Innovation.
Research Interests
Dr. Quinlan’s research is rooted in qualitative, quantitative, and mixed methods, with thematic focus in:
- Criminology and gender
- Women’s incarceration and reproductive justice
- Pedagogical innovation in research methods
- Social justice and youth violence
She has led and participated in innovative projects involving ethnography, visual methods, and action research, and worked in close collaboration with organisations including Leicester City Council (on adolescent-to-parent violence) and other community justice initiatives.
