Dr Lesley Murphy

Dr. Lesley Murphy lectures in a range of Sales and Marketing modules with a practical application from Level 6 to MBA level. She currently teach:
- Marketing Planning to 2nd year Marketing students.
- Business to Business Marketing to 2nd and 3rd year BSc Marketing students
- She coteach Business Sustainability to 3rd year BSc Marketing and 4th year Business and Management students
- Business Research Methods to MSc Management and Marketing students which is run in conjunction with the Marketing Institute of Ireland
- Management of Sales to MSc Marketing and MSc Strategic Management students
- Strategic Customer Management to MBA students
She is also the academic in TU Dublin responsible for the TU Dublin - AKAM Postgraduate Diploma in Key Account Management and has worked to optimize student engagement on this programme through providing asynchronous content through use of technology on the VLE.
Dr. Lesley Murphy uses Problem-based learning (PBL) extensively to promote critical thinking and problem- solving in authentic learning situations by working with organisations on a live brief which is then presented to senior management. She has worked with Bellurgan Engineering, Scorebuddy, LearnUpon, Test Reach.
In 2004-2025, she collaborated with the Enterprise Academy, Huawei and Dr Ciaran O’Carroll, from the school, on the Huawei Business Sustainability Enterprise challenge which aligns with the President’s current initiative of practice

This year, Dr. Lesley Murphy also focused on engaging students in a Level 6 Marketing Planning module which involved a three prong approach:
- Bringing in alumni of the programme as guest speakers and to allow students to visualise potential career directions
- Field trip to a Marketing company to see marketing planning in practice
- Working with a graduate of the programme on a live brief.

- Live company briefs for modules run through Problem Based Learning.
- External Examiner for Sales and Marketing modules in A.T.U, Galway on the degree programme.
- Currently Programme Coordinator for the PG Certificate in Key Account Management.
- Collaboration with partner universities - delivered two modules with our partner UNIS, in Guatemala on Strategy and Negotiation to undergraduates in
Guatemala City in 2017-2018. I also was awarded Erasmus+ funding to deliver work shops to MSc students over 5 days for our partner university in Lyon, France.
