Rosie Hand is a strategic leader, educator, and researcher in the fields of advertising, communications, and creative thinking, currently serving as Head of Discipline for Advertising and Communications at Technological University Dublin. In this role, she oversees the strategic and operational development of teaching, programme design, research, and industry engagement within the discipline. 

Rosie holds a Doctorate in Business Administration (DBA) from Nottingham Trent University, a Master’s in International Strategic Marketing Management from DCU, and a BA in International Marketing Management and Languages. She has also completed advanced CPD certifications in Technology-Enhanced Learning, Curriculum Design, and is currently participating in the Senior Leadership Development Programme at TU Dublin.

Rosie’s pedagogical approach is grounded in authentic assessment, live briefs, and applied learning—connecting classroom theory with industry challenges. She has delivered teaching from CPD level to postgraduate executive education, including:

A key part of Rosie’s leadership involves building bridges between academia, industry, and community. She manages stakeholder relationships with:

  • EDCOM (European Institute for Commercial Communications Education)

  • Dr. Hand is currently Chair of the Judging Panel for The Irish Media Award 

She also represents TU Dublin at EDCOM and is leading the development of Ireland’s first Advertising and Communications Apprenticeship, in partnership with IAPI and industry leaders. 

Rosie has been instrumental in curating public-facing events, including “Over the Rainbow”, designed to guide brands on creating meaningful, authentic campaigns for Pride.
