Jennifer McDonnell is a lecturer in marketing and entrepreneurship at TU Dublin, delivering modules across Business, Science, and Engineering faculties at both undergraduate and postgraduate levels. She holds an MA in Marketing, a Postgraduate Certificate in Third Level Teaching and Learning, and a CPD in Educating for Sustainability. She is also a Graduate Member of the Marketing Institute of Ireland (MII). 

Jennifer’s teaching is rooted in interdisciplinary innovation, with a particular focus on business model development for non-business students. Her subject areas include services marketing, B2B marketing, food marketing, and entrepreneurship. She integrates sustainability principles directly into her module design, offering students practical insight into sustainable business practices.

Jennifer’s research is focused on innovation and sustainability, and she brings these themes to life in her classrooms through live consultancy projects, real- world assessments, and cross-sector collaboration. 

Educational Leadership & Outreach 

  • Delivers a Climate Launchpad module to Transition Year students, promoting early-stage innovation and environmental responsibility.
  • Actively collaborates with the TU Dublin Innovation & Growth Hub to identify and support emerging entrepreneurial talent.
  • Leads Problem-Based Learning (PBL) modules in collaboration with Dublin City Council LEO, the ENFUSE programme, and external business partners, giving students hands-on experience and generating actionable research for local enterprises. 

Professional Background 

Before joining TU Dublin, Jennifer had an extensive career in the financial services, retail, and technology sectors at managerial level. This industry experience informs her teaching, providing students with a grounded, real- world perspective on the challenges and opportunities facing modern marketers and entrepreneurs.
