John Hogan

John Hogan teacher Irish Politics and International Political Economy. He previously taught Irish Politics and Introduction to American Politics in Dublin City University. He holds a PhD from the School of Law and Government in Dublin City University and was a postdoctoral researcher in the Department of Political Science in Trinity College Dublin. He has won three IRC scholarship grants in addition to being part of a team that won a Canadian Social Sciences and Humanities Research Council (SSHRC) grant. 

Publications 

John has been published in the leading political science and public policy journals in the world. He has published 64 peer reviewer journal article, 6 books, 18 book chapters, 16 newspaper articles and blog posts and has presented 165 conference papers at conferences across Europe and North America. He has served on the editorial boards of a number of Policy Studies Organisation journals. According to Google Scholar his work has been cited over 2,400 times, with a h-index of 25 and ani10-index of 45. 

Professionally Affiliated 

  • He is a former chair of the Comparative Public Policy Section of the Midwest Political Science Association in the US.
  • He has advised various governments on issues to do with transparency, accountability and lobbying regulations and worked with the Department of Public Expenditure and Reform on the development of the Regulation of Lobbying Act 2015.
