Tara Campbell is a dynamic and creative educator with a diverse background in digital marketing, visual media, and the science of learning. She holds an MSc in Digital Marketing, a BA in Journalism and Visual Media, a Diploma in Social Media for Business, and a Certificate in Art and Design. Tara also brings advanced expertise in educational innovation through a suite of micro-credentials in areas such as AI for assistive technology, neuroscience for digital learning, and learning experience (LX) design. 

 

Teaching & Learning Innovation 

Tara teaches a range of core modules within the Digital Marketing undergraduate programme, including: 

  • Digital Media for Marketing
  • PR
  • Brand Management
  • Strategic Marketing Technologies
  • Previously: Effective Writing for Marketing and Introduction to Writing 

She is known for embedding innovative, student-centered practices, such as: 

  • Gamification to enhance engagement and retention
  • A photography competition within Digital Media for Marketing to stimulate creative learning
  • Cross-disciplinary collaboration with the Faculty of Engineering & Mechatronics, where PR students develop real-world promotional plans for wearable tech innovations 

Research Interests 

Tara’s research interests center around the science of learning, with a particular focus on: 

  • Neuroscience and cognitive science in education
  • Neurodiversity and assistive learning technologies
  • AI in education and AI in marketing and content creation
  • Learning design (LX) and pedagogy for digital environments 

Industry Engagement 

In Strategic Marketing Technologies, Tara facilitates a live client collaboration, where students: 

  • Build a comprehensive marketing strategy
  • Develop a technology roadmap to support campaign execution 

This experiential approach ensures alignment with real-world marketing demands and enhances student employability.
