The School of Mathematics & Statistics was at the recent Open Days on the Tallaght and Blanchardstown campuses, representing the Mathematics Learning Centre and the School's programmes.

Open Days are always vibrant occasions and the open days on Tuesday 4 November (Tallaght) and Thursday 6 November (Blanchardstown) were an excellent opportunity for schools to visit and experience the buzz and the facilities at these locations.

Why not come and visit us at the University Open Day in Grangegorman on Saturday 6 December 2025.

Most importantly, at Open Days young people have an opportunity to learn about the University's programmes, and the practical experience of being a TU Dublin student, first-hand from our lecturers and current students.  This week, the School was able to tell prospective students about the academic support that the Mathematics Learning Centre provides to all TU Dublin undergraduates - free and non-judgemental one-to-one support to assist anyone with mathematics and to help them succeed in their chosen course and discipline.

It was also an opportunity to tell the visiting students about our CAO programme TU874 BSc (Hons) Mathematics & Statistics and the wealth of careers to which it leads, in sectors as diverse as financial services, data analysis, statistics, supply chain and ICT.  Attendees learnt how flexible and accessible mathematics is as a degree choice, the critical importance mathematics plays in all of our lives and the fundamental role that the analytical and data-informed problem-solving we teach will have in addressing future challenges and meeting the future global skills needs.  Perhaps we will see many of them starting their course with us in Grangegorman in September 2026!
