Mathematics students @ CSO
The School of Mathematics and Statistics continues its longstanding partnership with the CSO, offering high-quality work experience options to our students, practical experience of the workplace and outstanding career development opportunities. All students of our full-time, CAO-entry, four-year honours degree programme TU874 BSc Mathematics & Statistics undertake an internship arranged by the School of Mathematics & Statistics in a leading company in one of the wide range of sectors that employ our graduates and in which mathematicians are highly sought after. The CSO is one of the most popular options amongst our students.
TU874 student, Niall Kelly, is currently undertaking his work placement at the Central Statistics Office as part of the Balance of Payments group, developing data collection/analysis methods that play a key role in understanding Ireland’s economic landscape.
We would like to express our gratitude to Niall's manager, Conall Scollard, for giving Niall this fabulous opportunity and for his continued support of our students over the years. It was also great to bump into recent graduate Callum Barr, who is now working for the CSO on their graduate programme. Congratulations Niall and Callum!
