Mathsweek @ TU Dublin 2025
Mathsweek is celebrating two decades of events and raising national awareness of mathematics. And TU Dublin (with its founding institutions of DIT, ITT and ITB has been with it every step of the way!
The School of Mathematics & Statistics was delighted to celebrate once again the importance, power and beauty of mathematics as part of Mathsweek. Our events started on Tuesday 14 October and will continue to the end of the week. Mathsweek is the national celebration of all things mathematical, underlining that mathematics is for everyone, part of our everyday lives, and is the key that unlocks the potential of our world. Up to half a million people from across Ireland, from communities, schools, businesses and Universities participate each year and events are held to showcase not only the immense impact and practical use of mathematics but also the entertaining and fun sides of mathematics.
This year, in addition to visiting schools and talking to children about how mathematics can be used to model and understand the world and tackle huge challenges, Central Quad TU Dublin hosted the "Maths Museum" of Catalonia. We were delighted to welcome Antonia Camina from Divermates, Madrid and Guido Ramelini from mmaca, Catalunya.
We congratulate everyone who got involved in Mathsweek and would like to thank all those who visited TU Dublin, especially our visitors from Spain!
