School researchers publish RTÉ Brainstorm article
Two researchers in the School of Mathematics & Statistics, Dr John Butler and his PhD student, Rebecca Brady, recently published an article via RTÉ's Brainstorm on "How maths can help you make a decision".
John and Rebecca's article, "How maths can help you make a decision" discusses the mathematics behind the models which are being created to describe how our brains process information and make decisions that, in turn, influence how we act. It is directly related to their research in mathematical neuroscience and brings to a wide audience the power of mathematical models to understand the world around us and the physical processes that we take for granted every day.
John and Rebecca have published many articles that bring their science and a greater understanding of mathematics to the community. RTÉ is an ideal platform for this dissemination which, through a partnership between the national broadcaster and Irish Universities, aims to bring new ideas, fresh thinking and innovative insights to a wider audience and encourage public debate and understanding.
