Student Bake Sale Raises €1,090 for LauraLynn Children’s Hospice
On 26 March 2026, first-year students from the Pharmacy Technician Studies programme organised a highly successful bake sale in support of LauraLynn, Ireland’s Children’s Hospice.
The initiative, delivered as part of the students’ Professional Development ePortfolio module, took place in the Central Quad lobby at the TU Dublin Grangegorman campus. Over the course of three days, students demonstrated exceptional commitment and teamwork, raising an impressive €1,090 to support children with life-limiting conditions and their families.
This student-led event reflects the programme’s strong emphasis on developing key professional values, including compassion, social responsibility, and community engagement, which are central to healthcare practice. The bake sale also provided students with a valuable opportunity to apply these principles in a real-world context.
The School commends the students for their energy, organisation, and dedication in delivering such a meaningful initiative. Their efforts highlight the important role that community engagement plays in shaping future healthcare professionals.
The School also acknowledges the support and guidance of Dr Julie Dunne, Head of School, whose mentorship contributed to the success of this initiative.
Sincere thanks are extended to all staff, students, and visitors who supported the event through donations and participation. Their generosity has made a meaningful contribution to an important cause.
