Technological Higher Education Training: Effective Leadership for an Inclusive Higher Education
This course aims to further enhance leadership capabilities within the Technological Higher Education sector in Ireland and has been supported through the HEA Gender Equality Enhancement Fund. Please see attached details relating to the course.

In addition, please note the following:
- There is limited availability on this course, with a maximum of 5 places allocated to each partner institution. This year, the course is open to L1, SL1/SL2 Academic staff and PMSS Managers at grade PO and APO.
- There will be a cost to attend the course. The course fee (€1500 per participant) will be covered by People Development but all travel expenses will need to be covered by the relevant department or school or function.

The expression of interest form will be used to evaluate applications and on the form there was a question asking why the candidate wanted to take part in this training. This had to be clear and concise answer as you only had 1000 characters to answer with.
The following is used to assess applications in order of priority:
- Can the participant attend all 6 dates in person?
- Has their manager agreed to sponsor them and is aware that travel/accommodation costs will come from the relevant department or school or function?
- Why do they feel this particular course is most relevant as opposed to other training we offer?
- Is it linked to enhancing leadership in the TU section and to increasing EDI targets/aims within TU Dublin and the wider sector?
- Do we have a gender balance in our participants for the course?
- Has the person attended any leadership course before?
- Are they working in a faculty/department/service that is lacking diversity in leadership or gender balance?
The closing date for applications is 12pm on Friday 11th September with successful applicants informed by the 25st September.
