The MSc in Cybersecurity Management is a conversion programme which aims to equip professionals with the strategic, managerial, and technical expertise required to navigate the evolving landscape of cybersecurity. By integrating key principles of cybersecurity, governance, risk management, and leadership, the programme prepares graduates to develop and implement robust security frameworks, ensure regulatory compliance, and lead cybersecurity initiatives across various industries.

Designed for individuals from diverse academic and professional backgrounds, this programme fosters interdisciplinary collaboration, critical thinking, and innovative problem-solving to address emerging cyber threats in a global context. The MSc in Cybersecurity Management aims to equip professionals with the strategic, managerial, and technical expertise required to navigate the evolving landscape of cybersecurity.

The minimum entry requirement for entry to the MSc Cybersecurity Management is an honours degree at the level of Lower Second Class Honours (2.2) in the area of Computing, Science, Engineering, Mathematics, or Business-related area.

Other applicants who do not meet these accredited learning criteria but who have substantial experience in the relevant field may be considered through a Recognition of Prior Learning process, in line with University policy.

Applicants intending to pursue the MSc in Cybersecurity Management (Business Graduate) stream must identify this intention at the application stage. To be eligible for this pathway, the applicant must meet the minimum entry requirements for the programme and must also have an appropriate background in Business, achieved either through accredited learning or professional experience.

The acceptance of candidates with Third Class Honours degrees and appropriate work experience and industrial certification on this course will be allowed provided there is evidence that the candidate can cope with the learning objectives of the course. Candidates may be interviewed to assess their suitability to undertake the level of work required and to assess their commitment to succeeding on this course.

English Language Requirements

If English is not your first language you will need to provide evidence of your English language proficiency as detailed on our website. Applicants for this programme should have a minimum IELTS (Academic Version) English Proficiency of 6.5 overall (or equivalent) with nothing less than 6 in each component.
