This course aims to develop skilled IT professionals with strong software and related skills and a good knowledge of how businesses function.

It combines computer studies, particularly software development, with business subjects. On graduating, you’ll combine technical, business and interpersonal skills regarded as being important to industry, and that are in constant demand by employers.

The technical skills include a high level of proficiency in Object-Oriented Software Development through Java and Ruby. The Interpersonal Skills, Communication Skills and the Project Management modules along with a work placement will develop your personal effectiveness in the workplace, while business and information systems topics provide a framework for workplace effectiveness.

Study Abroad Opportunities

Students have the opportunity to undertake an Erasmus exchange in Year 3.

Work Placement

In Year 3, students can choose to go on a work placement.

Applications for undergraduate courses commencing September 2025 are now closed.

Applications for undergraduate courses commencing in September 2026 will open in November 2025. Applications will close in June 2026.

To qualify for Advanced Entry applicants must be currently studying, completing, or have successfully completed, studies at Level 6, 7 or 8 in a Higher Education Institution (HEI) or an equivalent, in a related area. You must demonstrate by providing transcripts of results that you have achieved the learning outcomes for each stage you wish to advance past, for example:

  • To enter Year 2 via Advanced Entry, you must demonstrate that you have met the learning outcomes for Year 1.

On graduating, you may proceed to postgraduate studies leading to the award of MSc, MPhil or PhD at research institutes and universities worldwide.
