Current role and Experience

Caroline Tansey is a first-class honours graduate of University College Dublin, who holds a Bachelor of Commerce and a Masters of Business Studies in Management Consulting. Caroline commenced lecturing in 2003 with the Department of Management. Currently, she is pursuing a PhD in History with Trinity College Dublin. 

 

Teaching & Supervision

Caroline currently lectures at levels 6-8 within TUD Tallaght Campus. In addition, she has served as external examiner for several years with various organisations such as the Institute of Technology in Athlone. Caroline has previous experience in successful supervision of postgraduate research students.  

Part of Caroline’s role has allowed for participation in programme review panels internally and externally. Caroline has consulted on a private and pro bono basis in programme and module design for several colleges in Ireland and abroad. Caroline took the lead for the development, creation of modules, programme outcomes and pathways for our International Business degrees. In addition, she identified, researched and introduced simulation-based learning into the Department as a unique and contemporary learning focus for students in programs.  

Caroline has worked pro bono for Hue University, Vietnam in developing their Simulation Module. She was part of a multidisciplinary team to create an MA for the Non-Profit sector, led by Dr (s). Francis & Blathnaid Mc Geough, TUD Blanchardstown & Tallaght campus.

Professional Experience

Prior to her lecturing career, Caroline served as Manager for Design Evolution, a company specialising in product design for several sectors such as bio medical, medical devices, nutrition and aqua leisure. Caroline has also consulted with various organisations, small community-based partnerships and the non profit sector.
