Scholarship Underpinning the Programme
- Shauna Garry graduated from Dublin City University in 2009 with a BA (Honours) in Languages for International Communication.
- She spent her Erasmus year studying at the Faculty of Translation and Interpretation at the Universidad de Granada.
- Upon completion of her degree, she was contracted by the Universidade da Coruña, where she taught Hiberno-English in the Faculty of Philology until 2011.
- In 2011, Shauna began lecturing at the Universidad de Menéndez y Pelayo in Santander before returning to DCU to complete her master’s degree in Applied Languages and Intercultural Studies. She was awarded her MA (Res) degree in 2014.
- Her thesis investigated the link between innovative pedagogical models in Latin America and the motivating factors in participation in civic life.
- In 2016, Shauna received a Non-native Teachers of Spanish Award from the Ministry of Education of Spain in collaboration with Universidad Internacional Menéndez y Pelayo.
- In 2024, Shauna was awarded the Postgraduate Certificate in University Learning and Teaching (PGCHE) by TU Dublin.
- At TU Dublin, Shauna lectures in Spanish and Intercultural Studies.
- She also coordinates and supervises student placement.
