School holds careers event
The School of Mathematics & Statistics was delighted to host a Career Information Event for our full-time undergraduates this week.
Students on our full-time undergraduate programme, TU874 BSc (Hons) Mathematics & Statistics, took part in one of our career readiness events on Wednesday, 8 October. The event saw Cormac Moore from Accenture and Eimear Shanahan from EY talk to students about careers for mathematicians, the opportunities and pathways in their companies, and the demand for skills in their sectors.
These events are all part of the graduate readiness and employability skills we develop in our programmes. In particular, our programmes not only provide the technical skills, statistical and mathematical modelling knowledge most required by employers, but also develop the communication and business skills to ensure that our graduates find rapid employment. Indeed, data has shown that TU Dublin is Dublin's number one University for graduate employment.
Importantly, all of our full-time undergraduates undertake a work placement in the third year of their course, allowing them to apply their knowledge in real-world contexts and develop their skills to meet the challenges of a competitive modern employment environment.
We would like to thank all our company partners for their continued support of our students and programmes, and look forward to more enjoyable and beneficial events over the coming year.
