Mathematics student placement series: 1
This is the first in a short series highlighting the work placement opportunities for students in the School of Mathematics & Statistics. Each year, every student has the opportunity to apply their mathematical and statistical skills in real-world contexts and develop their employability.
The range of work placement opportunities we offer spans the wide variety of roles in which mathematics and statistics graduates are in such high demand, from finance to ICT and data science to technical analysis, to statistical research and education.
Megan Dooley is a third-year student of TU874 BSc Mathematical & Statistics who is doing her work placement with the Risk Control team at Murex.
Megan is a past recipient of the Kastus Scholarship for Women in Mathematics & Statistics and has been working at the forefront of financial technology, and has been given an amazing all-around experience. We would like to sincerely thank her manager, Rana Zoghbi, and the whole team at Murex, for giving Megan this opportunity.
