Mathematics student placement series: 2

Published: 13 Jun, 2025

This is the second in our short series highlighting the work placement opportunities for students in the School of Mathematics & Statistics. The series showcases the wide range and variety of opportunities for mathematics and statistics graduates.

The School of Mathematics & Statistics has been working with AIG, a leading insurer, for many years.  The experience our students gain in AIG of a vibrant workplace, with challenging and interesting projects and tasks is invaluable and just one of the many career routes that graduates of our full-time undergraduate programme, TU874 BSc Mathematical & Statistics choose.

Pictured above is TU874/3 student, Eoin Cragg, who is doing his work placement with the Actuarial Analytics team at AIG. Eoin is getting invaluable experience and really enjoying being at AIG. We are very grateful to his manager, Ronan Smith for giving Eoin this wonderful opportunity.

We are delighted to maintain our strong relationship with AIG and wish Eoin all the best with the remainder of his placement.

Please read more about our work placement opportunities with the next in the series Mathematics student placement series: 3 and the previously highlighted opportunity with Murex: Mathematics student placement series: 1.
