Dr Mohammed Mahmoud is a Lecturer in Civil and Structural Engineering at TU Dublin. He teaches a range of modules across civil engineering programmes, including water and environmental engineering, hydraulics, fluid mechanics, and structural mechanics. He is actively involved in supervising undergraduate and postgraduate research projects and contributes to curriculum development within the School of Transport and Civil Engineering.
Dr Mahmoud’s research focuses on data-driven approaches for understanding and managing water systems, with particular emphasis on hydrometeorology, hydrological modelling, and water quality assessment. His work integrates environmental data analysis, remote sensing, and emerging machine learning techniques to improve the monitoring and prediction of water resources under changing climatic conditions. His work has been published in leading international journals including Journal of Hydrology, Remote Sensing, and Atmospheric Research.
Dr Mahmoud also contributes to international education through TU Dublin’s collaboration with Nanjing Tech University in China and is committed to integrating data-driven methods, sustainability, and digital technologies into engineering education.
