Global Entry & Faculty Excellence Scholarships

Each year, TU Dublin awards a series of merit-based scholarships exclusively for non-EEA students recognising outstanding academic achievement at undergraduate and postgraduate level. Scholarships take the form of a reduction on your published tuition fee and cannot be used toward living, travel or visa costs.

• The Undergraduate Global Entry Scholarship supports five students annually with €2,000 per year throughout their degree, subject to continued full-time enrolment and satisfactory academic progress.
• The Postgraduate Global Entry Scholarship awards €2,000 to fifteen students for one year, recognising first-class honours or equivalent achievement.
• For students who stand out for leadership potential as well as academic excellence, Faculty Excellence Scholarships offer €5,000 for one year — five places awarded annually, assessed by each Faculty against university strategic priorities.

Successful applicants receive a Letter of Scholarship, which can support visa applications for students from entry visa required countries. All scholarship holders are invited to join an annual award ceremony in Semester 1.

This model is designed for students who hold an Irish, EU, EEA, Swiss, or UK passport but have been living outside those regions. Under standard rules, these students would face full non-EEA fees for their first three years before dropping to the lower EU rate in year four — creating an uneven cost profile that can make financing more expensive.

TU Dublin's Diaspora Fee Model replaces that stepped structure with a single, consistent annual fee spread evenly across all four or five years of the programme. The total cost of study remains the same, but the annualised rate is lower in early years, reducing the amount students need to borrow up front and the interest that accrues. For a four-year programme where the standard non-EEA fee is €14,500 and the EU rate is €3,819, the annualised fee works out at approximately €11,830 per year.

This model applies to full-time undergraduate programmes of more than three years and is available to eligible passport holders regardless of where they completed their prior schooling — with the exception of British National Overseas passports.

When a government body, university, or enterprise outside Ireland funds a group of students to study at TU Dublin, those students may be eligible for a structured tuition fee discount. This policy creates a transparent framework for negotiating, approving, and administering those arrangements ensuring consistency and fairness across all partnerships.

Discounts are scaled by cohort size: sponsoring organisations sending five or more students in a single academic year qualify for reductions between 10% and 15% off the published non-EEA fee. The arrangement applies across undergraduate and postgraduate programmes from Level 6 through to Level 9 for the full duration of study. Discounts are not available for micro-credential programmes, programmes built specifically for a single sponsor, or programmes jointly delivered with other Irish institutions.

Sponsor organisations must be approved by the University Executive Team and enter a formal written agreement before any discount applies. Approval considers the sponsor's legal standing, financial position, and alignment with the University's values on equality and sustainability.
