Cygnum

Established in 1997 Cygnum is one of Ireland’s leading timber frame processing companies, it spans almost 20 years of making timber frames for houses, homes (both one-off and in volume), hotels, apartment blocks, care homes, schools and other public buildings.

The Cygnum Award is worth €1,000 for each winner. The award is based on academic excellence in a timber construction-related project or dissertation. 

The awards programme is open to the below disciplines:

  • Sustainable Timber Technology
  • Architectural Technology
  • Structural Engineering

Previous winners include: Laura O'Toole, Zhizheng He, Nigel Smyth, Szymon Grabowski, and Kate Ballance.
