SCAFT Celebrates Class of 2025

Students of our school from all three campuses attended graduation ceremonies on Thursday, 30th October on the Tallaght Campus.

Congratulations to our colleague, Ms. Caroline O'Dowd, on her recent graduation with First Class Honours in the BSc (Hons) in Horticulture.

Caroline, who works in the School of Mechanical Engineering, began her part-time studies in 2019 on the Higher Certificate in Horticulture. Through her persistence and dedication, she continued her studies in the School of Culinary Arts & Food Technology, culminating with her recent BSc (Hons) award.

Reflecting on her journey, Caroline shared:

I have always had a passion for Horticulture and Garden Design, and I’ve been fortunate to have the opportunity to pursue part-time studies in the School of Culinary Arts & Food Technology to complement my interests with formal qualifications. Balancing the course with a full-time job was certainly challenging, especially with the amount of weekend work required. However, I would encourage anyone considering a part-time course to go for it—when you're genuinely interested in the subject, the learning becomes even more rewarding. I think I’m a lifelong learner, so now I’m exploring what to do next.

Anissa Mokhtari (pictured below) received the Student Academic Excellence Award 2025 for our school, graduating from the Msc Applied Culinary Nutrition with First Class Honours. Anissa also holds a BA (Hons) in Botanical Cuisine from our school, which she graduated from in 2024.
