BSc. Business & Law Student Participates in “Chief Justice’s Summer Placement Programme”
Cristín Scollard (Business & Law Class of 2023) – was one of just 30 Irish and international students selected for this very prestigious programme.
Cristín was assigned to a judge of the Criminal Court of Appeal. Cristín described the experience as “incredible as it provided invaluable insight into the day to day running of the courtroom”. Cristin also emphasised that “for any student considering a career in the judicial system, this programme provides a unique opportunity to explore the plethora of opportunities available to further one’s education and career in the legal field”.
Dr. Eoghan O’ Grady (Final Year Chair) congratulated Cristín on attaining the place and on successfully completing the internship. He added “the range of experiences on the programme are exceptional – including attending the Hardiman Lecture Series, participating in mediation workshops, making presenttaions on the Supreme Court and indeed attending a formal dinner hosted by the Fordham School of Law New York.
Cristín and the wider BSc. Business & Law Teaching Team are especially grateful to Deirdre McGowan (Head Department of Law - TU Dublin City Campus) for leading once again on the selection process. TU Dublin looks forward to participating in the programme again in 2024.
