The TU Dublin School of Management, People and Organisations was honored to have Elaine Rossiter, Dr. Gültekin Cakir and Tara Clarke attend the largest Global Entrepreneurial Talent Management 4 Project - GETM4 Sandpit meeting to date, held at the University of Warsaw, where over 83 participants from 11 universities and business partners came together to exchange knowledge, collaborate, and innovate.

The theme of the event – "Doing differently makes a difference" – truly resonated with Elaine, Gültekin and Tara as they explored new ways to address challenges faced by SMEs in the face of digitalisation and disruptive events. Here are some highlights from their experience:

Work Package 4 Focus: Our team delved into the critical topic of understanding employers' expectations around employee competencies, particularly in relation to adapting to change. The research is particularly impactful for SMEs, which are often overlooked compared to larger corporations.

Knowledge Exchange and Workshops: From engaging sessions on Generative AI for persona creation to a hands-on workshop on communication strategies led by Justine Carrion-Weiss (Design Council UK) and Professor Mark Bailey (Northumbria University), the week was filled with opportunities to learn and contribute. A highlight was co-creating the communication strategy for GETM4 alongside the TU Dublin team.

Interdisciplinary Collaboration: The diverse group of participants—from different cultures, disciplines, and generations—fostered an entrepreneurial spirit and enhanced the transfer of knowledge. This truly highlighted the power of collaboration across borders and sectors.

Workplace Well-Being: We also had the chance to engage in insightful discussions on workplace well-being and ethics in research, contributing to a focus on employee health, happiness, and well-being across industries.

Industry Insights: A visit to Roche was an eye-opener, where we learned about their HR team’s innovative initiatives to support employee health and well-being—an experience that reinforced the importance of creating supportive work environments in today’s fast-paced world.

A special thank you to Katarzyna Dziewanowska and the Polish team for their exceptional organisation, support, and expertise, which made this event such a success. Your dedication ensured a memorable and impactful experience for the GETM4 community.

Looking forward to the next steps as we continue to drive impactful change in the digital economy!
