School of MPO Hosts Panel on Sustainable Workplace Wellbeing for National Workplace Wellbeing Day
Thank you to everyone who joined us this morning for our panel discussion on sustainable workplace wellbeing, held in recognition of National Workplace Wellbeing Day.
It was an insightful and engaging morning of conversation focused on how we can better protect and support human health in the workplace—not just in the short term, but in a strategic and sustainable way.
We were privileged to hear from an inspiring panel of experts:
- Biddy O'Neill shared the vision behind the Healthy Workplace Framework and Healthy Ireland Local Government’s work in supporting organisations to embed wellbeing as a core strategic priority.
- Patrick Haslett outlined how Ibec’s KeepWell Mark provides a robust, evidence-based structure to guide and sustain wellbeing efforts.
- Mary Connaughton, Fellow CIPD highlighted CIPD Ireland’s Sustainable People Practices Framework, and the importance of ensuring employees are left ‘net better off’ in terms of health and employability.
- Cathal Divilly from Great Place To Work Ireland spoke on the crucial role of leadership and employee voice in creating a culture of trust and commitment to wellbeing.
- Niamh Imbusch from the TU Dublin School of Management, People and Organisations brought a valuable academic perspective from Technological University Dublin, emphasising the need for collaboration between industry and academia to co-create relevant, evidence-based wellbeing solutions.
- Eadaoin Ryan explored the idea of wellbeing washing, and the importance of closing the gap between intention and lived employee experience.
The discussion sparked powerful reflections on how we can align wellbeing efforts with authentic, lasting impact.
Huge thanks to our brilliant speakers and to everyone who attended. We look forward to continuing this important conversation.
