School of MPO Students Shine at International Case Competition Hosted by University of Navarra
In the article below, Eoghan O'Grady reflects on TU Dublin School of Management, People and Organisations recent participation in the 2024 University of Navarra International Case Competition (UNICC), highlighting the team’s performance, the intensity of the challenges faced, and the significance of the experience for both students and faculty.

16 schools from Europe, Canada, the United States and Asia participated.
At the Opening Ceremony, Technological University Dublin - represented by BSc. Business and Management final year students Alex Byrne, Amy Cusack, Luke Gilleran and Karishma Prause – were drawn against the University of Toronto, Wilfrid Laurier University (both Canada) and the Norwegian School of Economics (NHH).
Over the course of the week, the teams tackled fast-paced and intense three-hour cases on COCUUS - https://cocuus.com/- and CRISALION - https://crisalion.com/, and an especially complex 12-hour case on LABORITARIOS BABÉ - https://lnkd.in/eAA8wf7c.
After these three rounds of intense competition, TU Dublin just missed out on reaching the Grand Final after ranking second in the division behind the Norwegian School of Economics.
Commenting on the experience, Alex Byrne said, “The challenge tested our problem solving, strategic thinking, teamwork and storytelling skills and participating will stand to us all in both our professional and personal lives”. Alex also, on behalf of the team, thanked Team Coaches Pat Kenny and Eoghan O'Grady “for their guidance and support in the lead up to and during the competition”.
Eoghan O'Grady expressed his gratitude to the team, “Thank you, Alex, Amy, Luke and Karishma for your dedication to performing to the highest standard. Your performance has certainly further enhanced the Faculty’s reputation on the global stage. He also expressed his gratitude to the UNICC Organising Committee in particular Inés Vizmanos (President), Marina González Zúñiga (Head of UNICC External Relations), and Jose Luis de Cea-Naharro (Director, International Relations Office), for organising such an amazing competition.
At the closing ceremony, the School of Management at the Erasmus University Rotterdam were crowned UNICC Champions
