TU Dublin Tallaght was delighted to host its first Aviation Symposium on Thursday, 27^th April.

‘Towards Sustainable Skies’ Managing People and Organisations to achieve the ‘EU’s Fit for 55 Policy’ was the theme of the symposium which featured many Irish business leaders from the world of aircraft leasing and finance.

The event was officially opened by Jack Chambers TD, Minister of State at the Department of Transport, and at the Department of the Environment, Climate and Communications.

“We are incredibly excited to present our first Aviation Symposium. TU Dublin is a pioneer of technological higher education with our alumni having key roles in supporting technological and innovative advances that will help society to thrive both in Ireland and internationally in the 21^st century,” said Dr. Eoin Langan, Dean of the Faculty of Business.

“This inaugural industry-academic symposium on the Tallaght campus is a significant event in the School of Management, People and Organisations within the Faculty of Business in TU Dublin, where a key priority as a new Faculty and School is to build on collaborative relationships with industry and strengthen the bridge between academia and relevant industry engagement; what was especially heartening to see from the symposium is the particular focus on the School’s regional connections in Tallaght,” Dr Roisin Donnelly, Head of the School of MPO added.

TU Dublin Tallaght’s Aviation Symposium brought together world leaders in the Aviation Leasing Industry to discuss Ireland’s ‘Fit for ‘55’ policy.  The Symposium also provided students the opportunity to be part of the dialogue on creating and becoming part of the solution on Sustainable Skies which compliments TU Dublin’s Strategic pillars of People, Planet and Partnership, and underlines TU Dublin’s remit of ‘Infinite Possibilities’.

“Aviation is critically important for Ireland’s global connectivity, economic wellbeing, foreign direct investment, and it provides over 100,000 jobs directly, indirectly and through support services. Working together to be part of Ireland’s innovative and sustainable solutions is vitally important in bringing the EU’s Fit for 55 Policy to fruition securing the future of aviation,” Dr Langan concluded.
